This is a case study of a Japanese-style toilet being remodeled to a Western-style toilet. The Japanese-style toilet is characterized by a floor that is one step higher. First, we demolished the floor and made it flat. We also demolished the tiled wall to make the walls and floor flat. We then laid wallpaper and cushion flooring, installed the toilet and washlet, and the work was completed.
