When we visited, we found that the entrance and staircase area were all made of sand walls. The sand from the sand walls kept falling off, making cleaning difficult, and the customer wanted to brighten up the area as it felt dark, so we suggested putting up wallpaper this time. First, we removed the handrails and other items currently attached to the walls. If we left the sand walls as they were, they would be too rough to apply wallpaper, so we first laid down plywood to create a base for the wallpaper. Once the veneer was laid, a wallpaper craftsman would apply putty to the joints, and then the wallpaper would be applied and the project was complete!
